I am sitting in Copenhagen airport, enroute to London, and then New York. More on that later in the week, but to the main reason for this note: an invitation to a conversation this Thursday, 21 September, at 5.30 pm Sydney time, 8.30 am London, and 3.30 am in the morning in New York (a little early, I know).
In previous conversations, we delved into the concept of 'cultural exhaustion' and its pervasive influence on our personal lives, as well as across business, government, and civil society. We also introduced seven key principles to navigate this challenging phase.
Over the next year we will be exploring this together in ever deeper detail.
In our session this week we will look more closely at the causes of cultural exhaustion, and how this makes it extraordinarily challenging to survive the coming metacrisis: the convergence of multiple crises across climate change, social inequality, political polarisation, economic instability, and deepening erosion of trust in leaders and institutions. This convergence jeopardises the harmony and health of our global civilisation, and threatens the core fabric of our social existence.
The root causes can be traced back to deep socio-economic, scientific, and philosophical shifts that take place in expansive, civilisational cycles, that ebb and flow between different ways of understanding reality. These fundamental shifts in perspective inform our ethical standpoints, influence interpersonal dynamics, and impact social cohesion.
Join us for this enlightening conversation. It promises to reshape your understanding of current global events, equip you with probing questions for effective leadership during crises, and offers you a forum to consider your unique challenges from this fresh vantage point.

I find conversations a rich way not just of learning, but of getting to know people at a deeper level. I would be thrilled if you can join us.
Warm regards
